What is a semi-automatic 5-gallon PET blow molding machine?

 

The semi automatic 5 gallon PET blow molding machine is specifically designed for blowing 3 to 5 gallon PET preforms. It is suitable for a neck diameter of 55mm or above and a wall thickness of 0.8~1.2mm. It is used to produce 10L~20L disposable/recyclable, pressure-resistant large containers.

Its manual operation mode consists of four steps: 1. Place the preform in the oven, and adopt upgraded multi-segment infrared lamp temperature control system. It allows for independent temperature control of the neck, body, and bottom of the PET preform; 2. Standard 5-gallon preforms weigh 630g~750g and feature thick walls, which may lead to uneven heating. Thus, an internal heating device is required.; 3. Place the heated PET preform into a mold and shape it through high-pressure blowing and cooling; 4. Remove the shaped product. The pre-blowing, mold locking, high-pressure blowing, bottle shaping, and rapid cooling of the blow molding machine can be automatically operated through a Programmable Logic Controller(PLC) system.

Due to its modular structure including preform heating, clamping system, high-pressure blowing system and PLC control, this equipment can achieve semi-automatic and automatic production via PLC. New operators can start normal production simply by mastering parameter settings for PET preforms of different weights. The machine is equipped with an industrial touchscreen PLC control system and a PIN temperature module, solving common problems in the production of large PET bottles such as uneven wall thickness, bottle whitening, deformation, and incomplete forming.
